The Art and Science of Personal Branding for Social Media Networking

All too often, presentations on “social media” place too much emphasis on the tools and technologies without starting at the beginning. Glenn dials it back to outline the art of content development and the science of process planning -- both key to the successful creation and launch of a social media marketing effort. Glenn outlines the steps to identify and create a unique personal brand essence and weave it through a personal social graph. He further dives into the processes of building a rewarding social media network, managing social media into our daily lives, and monitoring one’s brand reputation across the social media landscape.

Beyond Social Media to the Emerging Social Web

While most of the social media talk and hype has been around Facebook, Twitter and the like, a more significant transformation is taking place in our society, belief systems and commerce. Glenn steps back from the tunnel vision of “social media” to look at the “big picture” where mass marketing and mass media consumption is making way to a new social empowerment where consumers and customers ultimately define the brand value and relevance. Glenn dives deep into emerging private niche brand communities, the “private Twitter” for business, the “new influencers”, user-generated content, crowdsourcing product development, social processes to evolve product knowledge management and the impact of content portability that will leave the website and travel contextually to new places on the web.
